El Centro Náutico Elcano funciona desde 1998, año en que se inauguró coincidiendo con el Campeonato de España de Vela Infantil, dentro del Complejo Deportivo Puerto Elcano, en Ronda de Vigilancia s/n, Cádiz.
El centro imparte cursos de vela por niveles, windsurf y piragüismo, además de un programa de vela escolar dirigido a centros educativos de la ciudad. También ofrece alquiler de embarcaciones, con opciones tanto para quienes disponen de licencia de navegación como para quienes no la tienen.
El complejo municipal en el que se ubica cuenta además con pantalanes con más de 200 amarres, campos de fútbol-7 de césped artificial, pistas de pádel y sala de musculación, instalaciones que no dependen del propio centro náutico sino del conjunto del recinto.
El horario habitual es de lunes a domingo de 9:00 a 20:00 horas, variable según temporada, y el centro organiza también actividades para grupos, eventos corporativos y reuniones privadas.
