La pista de atletismo se ubica junto al Estadio Municipal de Maspalomas, en San Fernando de Maspalomas (San Bartolomé de Tirajana, Gran Canaria), en las inmediaciones de la calle Evaristo Martín Freire. El estadio se inauguró el 13 de septiembre de 1992 y cuenta con un campo de fútbol de 90 x 70 metros rodeado por la pista, con capacidad para 6.000 espectadores.
La instalación fue sede del Torneo Internacional de Fútbol de Maspalomas y campo local de la Unión Deportiva San Fernando (1992-2000) y de la Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Club de Fútbol, que disputó aquí la temporada 2000-01 en Segunda División B. Posteriormente pasó a ser la sede del Club Deportivo Maspalomas.
Es una infraestructura deportiva de titularidad municipal, dentro de la red de instalaciones gestionadas por el Ayuntamiento de San Bartolomé de Tirajana, sin web ni redes sociales propias más allá de los canales municipales.
