  • Insights against players of your level, built on millions of rounds.
  • Watch app on Apple Watch and also on Wear OS (Android).

Where Badgie is stronger

  • Official RFEG handicap updated every day; TheGrint's GHAP outside the US is not WHS.
  • Morris: AI swing analysis in a minute, a caddie in the chat and on WhatsApp.
  • Strokes Gained on the scorecard and a paper scorecard read by AI.
  • Six languages and the link to the club and the coach: TrackMan, video analysis, reports.

What Badgie does not have today

  • Courses outside Spain: 745 Spanish layouts with a scorecard; TheGrint publishes 40,000+ courses worldwide.
  • No Green Maps with slope and no plays-like distances.
  • No Wear OS app: the watch app is Apple Watch only.

Who each one is for

TheGrint

Golfers in the US, the UK or Canada who want GPS on any course, stats compared with players of their level and a large community of friends and leagues, in English.

Badgie

Federated golfers in Spain who want their official RFEG handicap up to date, rounds with friends and guests by link, AI swing analysis and caddie, and students of an academy whose coach uses Badgie.

Frequently asked questions

Badgie Golf or TheGrint for a golfer in Spain?

To play in Spain with an official handicap, Badgie Golf: the RFEG handicap updates daily, 745 Spanish layouts have a scorecard, rounds with guests by link, Strokes Gained and Morris (AI swing and caddie) in six languages. TheGrint's GHAP outside the US is not a WHS handicap and the app is English only. If you often travel to play outside Spain or want Green Maps with slope, TheGrint publishes 40,000+ courses and Badgie does not.

Is the Badgie Golf handicap official?

Yes. Badgie Golf reads the federated player's official RFEG handicap and updates it daily, with their official rounds and tournaments; it does not compute a handicap of its own. The GHAP TheGrint offers outside the US is their own system (best 10 of 25 rounds), not a WHS Handicap Index.

Does Badgie Golf have Strokes Gained?

Yes, on the scorecard: how many strokes you gain or lose against your handicap in the long game, approach and putting, and in more detail if you score shot by shot with the GPS. TheGrint states on its website that it has no Strokes Gained.

What does the AI in Badgie Golf do?

Morris analyses your swing in 1-2 minutes (key moments, prioritised faults, tempo and drills), answers as a caddie citing the rule that applies, in the app and on WhatsApp, and reads your paper scorecard or a launch-monitor sheet. TheGrint states it uses no AI and its scorecard picture service is transcribed by a person.

Does Badgie Golf work outside Spain?

The scorecard and GPS cover 745 Spanish layouts with an official scorecard; outside Spain there is no course catalogue. TheGrint publishes GPS on 40,000+ courses.

Does Badgie Golf have a watch app?

Yes: an Apple Watch app with a scorecard, GPS and the group game, included with Badgie Golf on the App Store, plus a Live Activity on the iPhone. TheGrint also has a Wear OS app; Badgie does not.

Which languages is Badgie Golf in?

Spanish, English, Catalan, Italian, French and Portuguese. TheGrint is English only.

How much does Badgie cost compared with TheGrint?

Badgie: Badgie Golf is free: RFEG handicap, live scorecard, GPS, rounds, badges and stats, with 5 swing analyses and 20 questions to Morris a month. Pro, only Morris without limits and on WhatsApp: €7.99/month or €39.99/year, for now on iPhone only (App Store). TheGrint: Free with GPS, scorecard and basic games. Pro: $59.99/year ($39 in 2023) or monthly by country, with a 7-day trial. USGA handicap in the US at each association's price; elsewhere, GHAP at $9.99/year or included in Pro.

Can TheGrint and Badgie be used at the same time?

Yes. TheGrint can serve the GPS outside Spain and Badgie Golf the RFEG handicap, the rounds and Morris; there is no integration, so a round scored in one does not appear in the other.
