Quick answer
In Badgie, every academy player is rated on 39 attributes from 1 to 99 grouped into 8 classes, FIFA-style, with an overall rating (OVR) and a radar chart. It's done from CANTERA › Attributes on the web: tap a player, rate them and move on to the next without leaving the page. The club chooses which teams use attributes, can print an A4 sheet to rate with a pen and decides which classes appear on the public profile; the OVR is never published.
In this guide
Where to find it
- CANTERA › Attributes (/dashboard/football/attributes): «The FIFA-style rating of each player: tap one to rate them and move on to the next without leaving».
- Buttons: Squads, Public visibility, PDF sheet and Start at 50.
- Filters: search player, season, team, category and Smart Tag. A counter shows how many players you have rated («60 of 181 players rated» in the demo).
The 8 classes and their 39 attributes
- Pace: acceleration and sprint speed.
- Shooting: positioning, finishing, shot power, long shots, volleys and penalties.
- Passing: vision, crossing, free kicks, short passing, long passing and curve.
- Dribbling: agility, balance, reactions, ball control, dribbling and composure.
- Defending: interceptions, heading accuracy, marking, standing tackle and sliding tackle.
- Physical: jumping, stamina, strength and aggression.
- Goalkeeping: diving, handling, kicking, reflexes and positioning.
- Values: effort, commitment, punctuality, team spirit and attitude.
The 1 to 99 scale is the one kids know from video games. A blank box is an unrated attribute. Badgie calculates the OVR and an average per class; Values never counts towards the OVR, and for goalkeepers their Goalkeeping class counts.
Step by step
- Press Squads and choose which teams use attributes: All squads, Only the squads I choose, None or the shortcut From Infantil onwards. If no team has them switched on, the page says so with the Choose squads button.
- Filter by a team and, if you are starting from scratch, press Start at 50 («Set 50»): only the unrated performance attributes are filled in with 50.
- Tap a player to open their side panel. Rate by blocks, Performance, Goalkeeping and Character · not in the OVR: the score of each class moves its attributes, and you can expand the detail to fine-tune them one by one. The radar updates as you rate.
- Press Save and next (or Previous player / Next player) to go through the team in the order of the filtered table.
- To rate on the pitch, filter a team and press PDF sheet: Badgie generates a landscape A4 sheet with a QR code to fill in with a pen. For now, the values on the sheet are typed into Badgie by hand afterwards; automatic reading of the sheet is not available yet.
In the coach app
In the app, open My team › Attributes: each player shows their overall rating (OVR) and the score for each block. Round mode lets you rate the same block for the whole squad in one go, and Start at 50 fills in only what hasn't been rated yet.
Tap a player to open their card with the radar and adjust each block with − and +. Save and next moves on to the next player.
Seasons and history
- Attributes are per season: a new season starts unrated, and the previous one can still be viewed with the season filter.
- When a player has not yet been rated in the current season, their panel shows the last rated season as a reference («Previous season (2025/26): OVR …»).
- Badgie internally stores every change with its previous value and who made it, although that change history is not shown on screen today.
What players and families see
Attributes start out private: they are a tool for the coaching staff. With Public visibility, the club decides which classes are shown on the player's public profile (the one in the sticker album) and in the public Badgie Football app, always for the current season. The overall rating (OVR) is never published, so that minors are not ranked with a score.
By format
- The same 39 attributes work for 7-a-side, 8-a-side and 11-a-side.
- Many clubs switch them on only from Infantil onwards (the shortcut in the Squads button) and in the younger age groups work with behaviour faces and badges.
- In the demo account, the Juvenil A, Cadete A, Infantil A and Alevín A are rated.
With the AI agent
- `get_player_attributes`: a player's attributes by season or, without a name, the club's board.
- `set_player_attributes`: proposes changes in the current season, which the club approves before they are saved.
Frequently asked questions
Can attributes be rated from the coach app?
Not today: they are rated on the web, in CANTERA › Attributes. The public Badgie Football app only displays them.
Can I see a player's progress?
Yes, season by season with the season filter. While the new season is unrated, their panel shows the previous season's OVR as a reference.
Does the family see their child's score?
Only the classes the club makes public, on the player's public profile. The OVR is never published.
Do I have to rate every attribute?
No. A blank attribute counts as unrated and does not lower the average.
