Quick answer
Badgie's Rental module handles the equipment a school lends or rents out: an inventory by item and quantity showing what is out and what is free, counter rentals or reservations for a date, payment with a deposit, returns with a damage charge and a QR label per item to scan. Payments go through Finance and a rental can be assigned to a student or to a walk-in customer.
In this guide
Where to find it
- SALES & RENTAL › Rental, with three tabs: Inventory, Rentals and Reservations, plus the Scan screen.
- The Rental button on the home dashboard opens a new rental from anywhere.
- Switch it on in MANAGEMENT › Modules with the Equipment Rental toggle; until then it does not appear in the menu.
The inventory
Each item is created once with its quantity: «Junior skis 110–140 cm ×18», not ski by ski. Badgie works out how many are out and how many are free from the rentals in progress.
- Click New item: name, sport, category (skis, boots, boards, helmets…), size, day and half-day rate, deposit and total stock. The photo is optional.
- Tick Apply VAT if the price includes tax.
- Filter by Sport or Status and sort by any column to see what is missing before the weekend.
Renting at the counter
- Click New rental and choose Counter (taken now) or Reservation (another date).
- Customer: a school Student (search) or a New customer without a profile, with name, phone and email.
- Period: By days or Half day, with pick-up and return date and time.
- Equipment: add items and quantities; Badgie warns you if there are no free units for those dates.
- Payment: Charge now (with the payment method), Payment link (online) or Leave pending. The rental total and deposit are shown at the bottom.
Rentals in progress and returns
Rentals lists what is still out, with pick-up, due date and payment status. Overdue rentals are shown in red and counted at the top.
- Click Return on the row.
- Register return shows the deposit held; if something comes back damaged, enter the Damage charge (€) and Badgie works out the refund.
- Confirm return frees the units in the inventory.

What the family sees
If the rental is charged with a payment link, the family receives the link to pay. The rental is linked to the student's profile when a school student is chosen, and its receipt appears in Finance like any other payment.
By sport
- Ski and snowboard: skis by length, boots by size, poles, helmets, goggles and boards; half days for the little ones in the snow garden.
- Surf, sailing and kitesurf: boards, wetsuits, sails and kites, with a deposit per unit.
- Bikes or padel: the same quantity-based inventory works for bikes, rackets or any equipment.
With the AI agent
- «How many junior skis are free on 5 December?» — the agent works out availability for the period (get_rental_inventory).
- «How much rental revenue this season?» — rental income and its payment status (get_rental_revenue).
Frequently asked questions

Yes, with New customer: name, phone and email, without creating a profile.
How is the deposit handled?
Each item carries a suggested deposit; on return, damage is deducted and the refund is recorded.
