Quick answer
Every morning Badgie checks the official handicap published by the RFEG for each player who has their licence number in their profile, stores every change and shows you the trend of the whole club. Official rounds (gross, Stableford and differential) arrive when the player links their own RFEG account in the Badgie app.

Where to find it
- Web: Golf → Performance, tabs Handicap, RFEG events and Compare.
- Player profile: Official tab (RFEG licence, category and RFEG account connection).
- Player app: Golf → RFEG, where they sign in with their RFEG username.
How the RFEG connection works
There are two levels, and it helps to tell them apart:
- Daily handicap (licence only). Every morning Badgie looks up each player's licence in the RFEG's public handicap search and, if the handicap has changed, updates the profile and adds a point to its history. The player's password is not needed.
- Official rounds (with the player's account). The player signs in with their RFEG username and password in the Badgie app. From then on their rounds, tournaments and federation data sync by themselves; the credentials are stored encrypted. The club cannot link accounts on behalf of its players.
A player without a licence is never updated: their handicap shows as unofficial and you will see it in Data to review. Handicaps from other federations have their own weekly refresh.
Step by step
- Add your golf players with their RFEG License number (in New player or in the Official tab of their profile).
- From the next morning, their official handicap updates by itself and every change is kept in the history.
- Ask the players to open the Badgie app, go to Golf → RFEG and sign in with their RFEG username to bring in their official rounds.
- Check Handicap to see who is going down and who is going up, and Data to review to fix missing licences or accounts that have stopped working.
- In RFEG events filter by Season, 12 months or 3 years and switch between Rounds and By event.
- In Compare click Add player and choose 2 to 4 players. With two players, Badgie adds a reading of who posts the better differential in their recent rounds, together with its reliability.
What the player sees
In the app, the player enters their licence and Badgie brings in their handicap, their club and their course. When they link their RFEG account, their federation career appears: countable rounds, tournaments and the evolution of their handicap.
Public handicap search
Badgie also offers a free public search where anyone enters their name or licence and sees their handicap, club and licence exactly as the RFEG publishes them. Badgie does not calculate or correct anything.
With the AI agent
The Badgie agent can propose loading a student's federation licence into their profile (set_student_golf_license). The proposal waits for your approval; from then on the handicap updates by itself.
Frequently asked questions
How often is the handicap updated?
Once a day, in the morning, for players with an RFEG licence in their profile.
Why do I see a player's handicap but not their rounds?
Because they only have the licence. Official rounds arrive when the player links their RFEG account in the app.
Does Badgie calculate the handicap?
No. The official handicap is published by the RFEG; Badgie collects it and keeps its history so you can see the trend.
What is “Data to review”?
The list of players with something to fix: no licence, an RFEG account that stopped working, a licence pending verification, no handicap at the RFEG, or no changes in more than a year.
