Microcycle methodology and exercise library in Badgie
How to plan the season in microcycles, classify exercises with the club's lists, draw them on the tactics board or upload them as video, and build sessions in blocks in Training.

Quick answer
In Badgie, a football club plans the season in microcycles: each team's training week, with its type and its general, specific, physical, technical and tactical objectives. Sessions are built in blocks from the club's exercise library, where each exercise can live on an animated tactics board or in a video, and are scheduled on a whole-season grid from Cantera → Training.

Where to find it
- Web: Cantera → Training menu, with the Plan · Microcycles tab (Table and Season views), Sessions, Exercise library and Scores.
- Club lists: button in Plan and in the library; it opens the Club methodology page.
- Coach app: planner with microcycles, library and board (on iPad, the coach's tactics board).
- Player and family app: scheduled sessions and each exercise's card.
What it includes
Microcycles
A microcycle is one team's training week, Monday to Sunday; there is one per team and week. It has a type (from the club's list; Badgie ships a starter type), title, note, season and objectives: general and specific from the club's list, plus three free texts for physical, technical and tactical work. That team's sessions in that week attach to the microcycle automatically, each with its session number and place.

Season grid
The Season view lists the club's sessions on the left and a week-by-week calendar on the right: drag a session onto a day to schedule it, between days to move it, or to the bin to remove it. You can filter by team and show only training days.
Club lists
Club lists classify exercises with your methodology's vocabulary: Category/Type grouped in colour-coded families, objectives, session objectives, habits, principles, performance modes, conditioning factors and technical resources. Badgie provides starter lists («Add Badgie's defaults») that the club renames, reorders, deactivates or extends. Nothing is deleted: a deactivated term leaves the pickers but still shows where it was used.
Exercise library
Each exercise has its card: code, category, objective, habits, rules, minutes, players, equipment, difficulty, steps and optional scoring (for example goals or consecutive passes) to log scores. Create it with Draw on the board, with animated phases, or From a video or photo: each exercise takes up to 12 photos, phone videos or YouTube links, each with a caption. The library mixes Badgie's catalogue and your own; the Only the club's exercises switch shows just yours.
Sessions and intensity
Sessions are built in blocks. For each one you record planned and actual intensity (1 to 10) and total, actual and specialised time, plus objectives, principles and notes. Duplicating a session copies the plan, not the actuals.
Step by step
- Go to Cantera → Training and click Club lists to review the starter lists and adapt them to your methodology.
- In Plan · Microcycles click New microcycle. From the calendar creates empty microcycles for the weeks where the team already has training, leaving existing ones untouched.
- Choose team, week and type, and write the objectives.
- In Exercise library click New exercise and choose Draw on the board or From a video or photo. Classify it with the club lists.

- Click New session, build the blocks by adding exercises from the library and fill in planned intensity, times and objectives.
- Schedule it with Schedule or by dragging it in the Season view and, after training, record actual intensity and time.
- If the exercise has scoring, click Log on its card to save each player's score; you'll find them under Scores.
In the coach app
The Board, in the home screen shortcuts, lets you draw an exercise from your phone: choose the pitch (Area, ½, 11-a-side, 7-a-side or Futsal) and its size, place numbered players from two teams and the ball, and split it into phases you can play back or present.
In Plan · Microcycles you see each week day by day, with the school's sessions, their duration and number of exercises; tap + to add a session to a free day.
What players and families see
Microcycles and club lists are internal to the coaching staff: players don't see them. In their app they see the sessions scheduled for their groups and each exercise's card, with its photos and videos, to review at home.
By sport
Block-based sessions, the season grid, the library with photos and videos and scores work for any sport (golf, tennis, martial arts, a box). Microcycles, club lists, session intensity and the pitch tactics board are designed today for football clubs.
With the AI agent
The AI team reads the methodology with dedicated tools: get_microcycles (what each team works on each week), get_workouts (sessions), get_drills (exercise library), get_exercise_taxonomy (club lists) and get_drill_leaderboard / get_drill_attempts (scores). Ask, for example: "What is Infantil A working on this week?", "Which rondos do we have in the library?" or "Who has the best score in the 1v1 dribble?". Creating or editing a microcycle is done in the dashboard.
Frequently asked questions
Does it work for sports other than football?
Partly: sessions, the grid, the library and scores do; microcycles, club lists and the tactics board are designed for football.
Is it the same as the training diary?
No. The microcycle is the club's plan before training; the diary records what was done, filled in by the player or coach.
What happens if I move a session to another week?
It changes microcycle on its own: Badgie works it out from the team and the week.
Can a team have two microcycles in the same week?
No. There is one per team and week; if you try to create another, Badgie offers to open the existing one.
Can I use YouTube videos?
Yes. An exercise takes up to 12 photos, videos uploaded from a phone or YouTube links, each with a caption.
Can I bring my season from a spreadsheet?
Yes. The Badgie team imports the season from your Excel file and the sessions land in the library, ready to schedule.
