Quick answer
In Badgie, the match plan is the shape at minute 0, and every change of formation or positions is saved with its minute from the coach app. When you record a substitution, the incoming player automatically takes the outgoing player's place. The PDF match report draws the starting eleven and one pitch for each change of shape, and every goal records whether it was inside or outside the box and whether it was a header.

Where to find it
- Coach app: match screen, tabs Plan (the eleven), Live (the current shape and its changes) and Sheet (the Shapes of the match gallery). Shapes are created and edited only in the app.
- Web: the match record shows the Formation, and the Match report (PDF) draws the match shapes.
- Goal context: in the app, in the web's events window («Goal zone» and «Header») and on the paper match sheet.
Step by step
- Before the match, in the app open the match › Plan, choose the formation and place the called-up players («Put the eleven on the pitch»); the rest stay on the bench.
- During the match, Live shows the Shape now on a compact pitch, with a timeline of every shape change above it.
- To change formation or reposition players, tap Change shape (or Adjust the current shape), choose the formation and tap two players to swap them. The shape is saved from the minute on the clock; with From minute you can move it one minute up or down, and Back to now returns to the minute being played.
- When you record a substitution there is no need to redraw: the incoming player takes the outgoing player's place. If you undo the substitution, the shape goes back too.
- When you record a goal, mark whether it was inside or outside the box and whether it was a header. If nothing is marked, it is taken as a goal with the foot.
- After the match, in Sheet, Shapes of the match (N) shows a small pitch for each shape: tap it to edit or delete it («Delete this shape»), or tap Add shape.
If you edit the Plan while the match is under way and there have already been changes, Badgie saves a new shape at the current minute instead of rewriting the starting eleven, so the starters' minutes stay correct.
The match report
The Match report (PDF) is downloaded from the match record on the web (or requested from the agent) and devotes one page to the starting eleven with its formation and another row of pitches to the shape changes, each with its minute and formation. Positions come first from the coach's plan in the app; if there is none, from the shape in an imported Football ISM match sheet; and failing that, from the players' positions. When you import a Football ISM match sheet, Badgie also brings in its minute-by-minute shapes.

Inside, outside the box and headers
The context of each goal is marked in the coach app (it can also be completed afterwards), in the web's events window when the goal is created and on the paper match sheet, with the inside the box, outside the box and header boxes. Reading the match sheet from a photo also picks it up, and the report shows it in the detail column for each goal.

With the AI agent
`get_match_document` returns the PDF match report with its match shapes. The agent does not create or edit shapes and never reveals the eleven or the formation of a match not yet played.
Frequently asked questions
Which formations can I use?
21 formations for 11-a-side, 4 for 8-a-side and 4 for 7-a-side, for example 2-3-1, 3-3-1, 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1.
Do I have to redraw the pitch every time I make a substitution?
No. When you record the substitution live, the incoming player takes the outgoing player's place. You only draw when you change formation or reposition players.
Do families see the match shapes?
No. Shapes are a tool for the coaching staff and Badgie does not send them to players or families.
Can I create shapes from the web?
No: shapes are created and edited in the coach app. On the web you view them in the match report.
